Project Description:
The University of Illinois created a Diversity and Social Justice Education program (DSJE) in 2021. During its first year, attendance at educational programs and events was lower than expected, causing DSJE’s sponsors to threaten to cut the program unless engagement improved.
The goal?
to promote awareness of the DSJE brand and increase attendance at DSJE events.

I was tasked with designing a compelling logo for the DSJE brand. I drew on themes of diversity, growth, and togetherness to represent the organization’s values (pictured). This logo was used for DSJE merch, social media sites, and digital advertisements for the brand (pictured).

“Let’s Talk” Series:
I crafted a series of Instagram carousels highlighting key historical movements (feminism, black liberation, and gay rights). They became our top-shared posts, boosting organic reach and audience growth. The campaign spurred meaningful conversations, effectively engaging our audience with diversity topics.
Spotlight Saturday
This was a weekly Instagram series showcasing on-campus resources for diverse populations. Through personal interviews, I highlighted their positive impact, effectively connecting audiences with invaluable services.
3) Live Coverage of Brand Events
I ensured real-time coverage of brand events on social media, delivering captivating content to our audience as each moment unfolded. I utilized Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, and relied on the unique features of each platform to create content geared for different audiences. This approach created an immersive experience, fostering a strong connection with the brand and generating heightened interest and engagement.
